On Sunday, the 49th edition of Vinitaly open its doors, the last great event with the excellence of Italian wine before Expo in Milan. The Grappa National Institute is represented by the participating distilleries.

The Italian grappa has a long history of distillation, an artisan tradition often carried on for generations by the same family. Various are the styles of the flagship distillate: white, young grappa to be enjoyed in a convivial gathering or those in barrique, amber coloured and aged, more suited to moments of pure meditation.

From 22nd to 25th March grappa, with all these souls, will be present at Vinitaly in the offer of individual distilleries who are organizing promotion activities through tastings and special moments of conviviality, in particular tastings of distilled products with native vines from areas of origin including fine single–variety products, "aware" tastings, not to be missed diagonal tastings of two vintages of wine and the young and reserve grappa of Gewürztraminer and Lagrein, performances of creation of author cocktails by professional bartenders.

There are two events organized by the Veneto Grappa Institute for Monday 23rd and Wednesday 25th, respectively with "The grappa of the great Veneto vines" and "Wood and grappa", in collaboration with Anag (Grappa and Brandy Tasters Association).

Why the Grappa National Institute at Vinitaly 2015?

«We all are at Vinitaly with a common goal – the Chairman of the Grappa National Institute Elvio Bonollo highlights – to launch from this privileged stage a message of unity and sharing both in terms of promotion and enhancement, which can be transformed into investment in image, as well as a point of departure to defend the product and its identity, its history, the wholly Italian culture of which it stands as a symbol and its economical value. Vinitaly is an opportunity that we can not lose, especially this year, because it is taking place a few days before Expo Milano: a global event that can bring new life to the sector and lead to a positive turning point in experiential tourism, with visitors from all over the world who have the opportunity to taste our grappa in traditional distribution channels such as HoReCa and large scale distribution, but also in our distilleries, to taste directly in the companies and at the same time see with their own eyes how the most famous distillate is made».
