On 9 and 10 September the seventh edition of the event organized by Cortina For Us and Chef Team Cortina, in collaboration with Globetrotter Gourmet. You host the mountain territories of other regions.

The event, which reaches its seventh edition this year, aims to put the role of mountain catering at the center of reflection, which becomes the privileged interlocutor of those who approach to live the experience of the area. An analysis that goes beyond regional borders and which this year will see the participation of mountain territories of other Italian host regions.
The Chef Team Cortina , Ampezzo professionals of taste and soul of the event, is now made up of nine realities : Fabio Pompanin of the Al Camin Restaurant, Luca Menardi of Baita Fraina, Luigi Dariz of the Da Aurelio Restaurant, Michel Oberhammer of the Baita Piè Tofana Restaurant, Carlo Festini from Lago Scin, Massimo Alverà from the Alverà pastry shop, Nicola Bellodis from Rio Gere, Graziano Prest from the Tivoli restaurant and the Bocus family from Villa Oretta.
The two-day gourmet program will open on Saturday 9 with StrEat Chef , the evening formula designed to experience five exclusive locations in the Ampezzo area – the restaurants Baita Fraina, Villa Oretta, Al Camin, Lago Scin and the Alverá pastry shop – where on an itinerant journey between foods and flavours, diners will have the opportunity to taste the specialties prepared by three different chefs in each location. Sunday 10 September in the morning there will be a conference that will bring to the attention of the participants some problems and strengths of the catering sector. Three fundamental themes that will be addressed: The declinations of hospitality , The school and hospitality , The encounter between mountain diversity . In the meantime, Piazza Dibona, in the center of Cortina, will be set up to host StrEat Lunch , the unique and exclusive lunch where Chef Team Cortina , starred colleagues and promising young people will prepare refined recipes linked to the territory.
“With The Queen of Taste , Cortina is a candidate to become the place par excellence for comparisons for mountain restaurants – underlines Franco Sovilla , President of Cortina For Us – For the second year alongside the moments in which the real protagonists will be the dishes made chef will also return the conference dedicated to sharing sustainable issues between the economy of catering, hospitality and typical products, which we will address together with the two host mountain territories, so as to have an even broader vision. A necessary and dutiful reflection that is part of a series of projects that we are carrying out as an association, also in view of an important event such as the Olympics, which will return to Cortina after seventy years".
Attention to the future of catering, a fundamental concept for the organizers of the event, also emerges from the desire to involve more and more young emerging chefs among the guests and from the activities offered by Cortina For Us and the Chef Team to local schools. In fact, the school year that has just ended saw the students of the hotel management institute and of the Val Boite artistic high school in Cortina involved in the GustArte workshop , an unusual love story between a table and a palette held by chef Roberto Piccolin of the Ariston Restaurant, who offered a great opportunity for growth and discussion to the young people involved. On the occasion of The Queen of Taste, the new project designed for the next school year will be presented.
