Tomorrow, November 27th, a journey to discover the DOC Collio will take place in many Italian cities in the Slow Food venues in Italy

The "Collio Day" starts: some of the main Italian cities will host the DOC Collio and all its features. Collio Day is a joint project of the Consortium for the Protection of the Collio Wines and Slow Wine. The initiative aims to spread the knowledge of a region with a long history of winemaking that has managed to make of tradition and of innovation its points of strength.

Collio Day 2014: What will happen on November 27th?

The Slow Food wine stores in the main Italian cities will be painted yellow: Milan, Padua, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples and Bari will welcome the producers of the Collio with their wines: from the native Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, to Collio Bianco, the blend symbol of the territory, up to Pinot Grigio.

The wines will be paired with delicious delicacies from Friuli, thanks to the participation of the Consortiun for the Protection of the Montasio DOP Cheese and of Friultrota with the Smoked trout of San Daniele.

Word to the President

"With the "Collio Day" we want to turn the spotlight at the national level on the designation – the president of the Consortium for the Protection of the Collio Wines Robert Princic says – with the aim to spread among lovers the knowledge of our wines who can express themselves well when young but, at the same time, they prove to have great longevity and to be able to give great emotions even after years. I think this is a point of strength typical of large wine areas like Collio, where the peculiar characteristics of the territory come together with the value of tradition and the wisdom of producers".

Collio Day for the 50th anniversary of the Consortium of Collio

The "Collio Day" is one of the initiatives for the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Consortium for the Protection of the Collio Wines, the oldest of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The Doc Collio has a very unique path linking tradition and research.
