Rosa' di Lento and Magliocco di Cantine Lento were the wines chosen for this prestigious occasion.

An achievement that combines international prestige and territorial identity: two outstanding wines from Calabria's extraordinary winemaking heritage have been selected to serve on board the papal flight during His Holiness's apostolic journey .

These are the new Rosa' di Lento and the pure Magliocco , two labels that tell, with different nuances, the elegance and strength of the terroir of Lamezia Terme .

"The selection made for the papal flight honors two of our core values ," explains Manuela Lento . " The Rosa' di Lento is the winery's latest, refined offering: a modern and vibrant rosé that captures the light of the Mediterranean, combining floral freshness with a savory, persistent structure. And the pure Magliocco , the pride of tradition: a distinctive red that expresses the noble character of the quintessential native grape, crafted with a mastery that enhances the elegance of its tannins and aromatic complexity."

A testament to Calabrian excellence, but not only that. Being present at the Holy Father's table is an acknowledgement that goes beyond the technical merit of the wine: it is a tribute to the Lento family 's perseverance in promoting historic grape varieties and protecting Calabria's agricultural landscape.

Cantine Lento labels had already been chosen in 2021 for Pope Francis's flight to Iraq. Now they were on the in-flight menu of Pope Leo XIV on his longest apostolic journey since his proclamation, from April 13 to 23. After arriving in Algeria , the papal program also included stops in Cameroon , Angola, and Equatorial Guinea .
