The partnership between the Alta Langa Consortium and the Teatro Regio of Turin is underway.

The presentation of the 2023/2024 season, which took place on 7 June, officially kicked off the collaboration.

The perlage of the Piedmontese High Bubbles will accompany the toasts at the "premiere" of all the operas until June 2024: La Juive (September 21), La bohème (October 21), La rondine (November 17), Don Pasquale (January 25, 2024) , Un ballo in maschera (February 21, 2024), La fanciulla del West (March 22, 2024), Le Villi (April 19, 2024), Der fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman, May 17, 2024), The triptych (June 21, 2024).

The Teatro Regio in Turin is one of the oldest operating opera houses in the world : its origins date back to 1740 , the year in which it was inaugurated as a magnificent representative venue for the Savoy court. Designed by the architect Benedetto Alfieri with innovative criteria, it soon became a destination for the grand tours of the time. After almost two centuries of uninterrupted performances, the ancient building, an Italian-style theater with five tiers of boxes, was destroyed by a violent fire in the night between 8 and 9 February 1936. The fire did not interrupt the programming of the Regio, which continued in other theaters of the city, until the opening of the current complex.

Its unique design in the world is due to the genius of the architect Carlo Mollino . It was inaugurated in 1973 with Verdi's I Vespri siciliani , under the sole direction of Maria Callas and Giuseppe Di Stefano: this year, therefore, the new Teatro Regio celebrates half a century of activity.

On 6 July the opera I Vespri siciliani will be revived in the form of a gala concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary. On this important anniversary, toasts will be made with the Alte Bollicine Piemontesi and an exclusive Alta Langa signature cocktail dedicated to Regio 50 (Alta Langa DOCG, Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry, wine brandy, lime honey, garnish: Verbena) will be presented exclusively.

Mathieu Jouvin , Superintendent of the Teatro Regio comments: As a tribute to the historic inauguration of 1973, we have programmed I Vespri siciliani by Giuseppe Verdi, a Gala Concert with a stellar cast directed by Riccardo Frizza. I am particularly pleased to thus inaugurate the partnership with the Alta Langa Consortium in the spirit of sharing even more the joy of music".

“ We like to think that a toast with Alta Langa DOCG becomes part of the ritual of the Teatro Regio, a symbolic place of Turin and Piedmont where art, culture and emotion are the absolute protagonists – concludes the president of Consorzio Alta Langa, Mariacristina Castelletta -. We are proud of this collaboration: the Alta Langa DOCG is ready to put on a show, let's drink from the happy glasses!”.
