Zenato Academy Award for contemporary photography, delivered by the Zenato winery, which has become a reference reality in Italy and in 60 foreign countries, to the young Turin photographer Carola Allemandi with the work "Notturno 009" from the "Notturni" series of the DR Fake Gallery Cabinet.

The Zenato Academy Award for contemporary photography was awarded to The Others , in Pavilion 3 of Torino Esposizioni, to the young Turin photographer Carola Allemandi with the work "Notturno 009" from the "Notturni" series of the DR Fake Cabinet Gallery , in the rich schedule of the emerging art fair held in Turin from 4 to 7 November 2021, on the occasion of Turin Contemporary Art Week.

" We are very pleased to be able to award the Zenato Academy Award on the occasion of The Others, the Italian fair dedicated to emerging national and international artists, created to enhance the new creative energies " declares Nadia Zenato , a Venetian entrepreneur, owner of the Zenato winery , a production reality that has become a reference in Italy and in 60 foreign countries for its ability to interpret, through the excellence of its wines, the soul of the territory of origin. " The Others aims to interpret the contemporary with the language of art, with a scouting operation between young emerging Italian and international artists. With Zenato Academy, aware of the elective affinity between the ' story of wine' and the artistic language, we aim to promote reflection on the themes and values that animate the world of wine through photographic research, supporting and stimulating young artists in the experimentation and exploration of what goes beyond the known. From this premise the Zenato Academy Award for contemporary photography among the works present at the fair - continues Nadia Zenato - which will become part of our collection ".

The purchase prize was selected by a jury composed of the artistic director of The Others Lorenzo Bruni , the art critic Luca Panaro and the entrepreneur Nadia Zenato .

" The choice fell on the work of Allemandi, a young Turin artist, - explains Luca Panaro - for having demonstrated a high level of visual experimentation in the" Notturni "series, while maintaining a strong formal rigor and composure. Zenato Academy dedicated to the enhancement of young artists and visual research in the photographic field ".

The selected work is part of Carola Allemandi's "Notturni" series , photographs in which darkness is total, interrupted only by some architectures and luminous elements. The work gives us a show of solitude in which in the night some simple visual elements, such as street lamps or street lighting tools, seem to offer the observer a way out of the darkness, suggesting a possibility to go beyond the night.

Zenato Academy is a project of the winery founded by Sergio Zenato in 1960 in Peschiera del Garda, in the province of Verona. Zenato Academy was born with the aim of supporting young artists and stimulating them to interpret, through photography and video and new media language, the world of wine of the Veronese company, with a new and innovative look.

The initiative with which the Zenato Academy was launched is the "Wine. Beyond" project, which involves the involvement of 5 students from national and international schools of art and photography, invited to interpret an ever-changing theme, in the desire to go beyond traditional iconography through the imaginative power of photography. A photographic exhibition is set up with the 5 works of each student and a bilingual Italian / English catalog is drawn up.
