The bottles of Prosecco Superiore sold at Christmas financed the Social Project of the National Animal Protection Body of Treviso.
The owners of the Le Manzane winery, Ernesto Balbinot, his wife Silvana, their children Marco and Anna presented this morning to the provincial president of the Enpa, Massimo Bordoni, a check for 16,022.80 euros. The GB Cerletti Higher State Institute of Conegliano will host the event.
The sum is the result of the 11th edition of the Solidarity Harvest, Celebration and Charity in the Land of Prosecco Superiore, which took place on 11 September among the Glera rows of the San Pietro di Feletto estate (TV). The event was organized by the Le Manzane winery in collaboration with the Treviso Section of the National Animal Protection Body. About 500 people attended the grape harvest day. 92.20 quintals of Glera collected to then be vinified and sparkling separately. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale, in the pre-Christmas period, of the bottles of Prosecco Superiore obtained, together with the entire proceeds of the day, was donated to the Enpa.
«I thank the Le Manzane company for choosing this place - declared the head teacher of Cerletti, Mariagrazia Morgan - which is a bit of a symbol, as it trains all the technicians who will then work in this sector. Furthermore, I congratulate you, on behalf of the whole institute, on the chosen aim. The cellars of our territory, thanks to the work carried out in all these years, have become qualified realities, which produce wines of the highest quality. This attention to local associations is important to support them and to lend a hand to those who, at this moment, may need solidarity".
«It was a pleasure and an honor for me to accompany this project - said the deputy mayor of San Pietro di Feletto, Loris Dalto -, I believe for all the 11 appointments for the delivery of the proceeds of the solidarity harvest. The Le Manzane winery is a sensitive company that knows how, through this initiative, to give back to the territory. Non-profit associations benefit from these proceeds which allow them to carry out important projects in the social field".
«Today we are writing the last page of this wonderful project - explained Ernesto Balbinot, his wife Silvana Ceschin together with their children Marco and Anna - we are happy to help finance the "caregiving" activities that the structures of the local section of the National Animal Protection are aimed at people who are in a moment of difficulty ».
«On behalf of all the Enpa volunteers - declared the provincial president, Massimo Bordoni - I thank the Le Manzane winery for the important support to our Social Project to guarantee a dignified life for defenseless and voiceless creatures. From January 2023 to today we have managed 56 dogs, helping as many families who, for economic or health reasons, are unable to care for and maintain their four-legged friend. We had to welcome some of them into the structure, while others we were able to manage directly in the family. In addition to the economic crisis, with many families unable to make ends meet, there are also the usual sly ones who feign problems to abandon their pet".
