What is The Doc Orcia?

The Orcia designation was founded in 2000, in a territory of 13 municipalities among those of Brunello and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. There are about 40 wineries that produce the Doc Orcia on an area of 153 hectares of vineyards in total. The wines are predominantly red and have a minimum of 60% Sangiovese.

The producers are committed from the vineyard to the sale of the bottles. "In an era of globalization, the Orcia wine is still a family product" the president of the Orcia Wine Road, Luchino Grappi, specified "made by those who live in the vineyards, in harmony with nature and with excellent skills in oenology and viticulture".
