From shared harvests to solidarity events, from vineyard screenings to historic grape festivals, the harvest season becomes a privileged opportunity to experience the region through wine tourism, amidst encounters, traditions, and authentic discoveries. In this journey, the Fondazione DMO Marca Treviso renews its collaboration with Città del Vino, a partner in promoting wine culture and the traditions surrounding the world of vines and wine.
"The grape harvest represents one of the most authentic moments to discover our destination. Through these events, we want to invite residents and visitors to experience the work of the producers, local traditions, and the cultural and food and wine heritage that characterizes the Marca Trevigiana. Our goal is to help people discover this area through hands-on, engaging experiences that allow them to experience its excellence and its people firsthand," says Giulia Casagrande, president of Marca Treviso.
Highlights of the season include: the Solidarity Harvest, the Night Harvest, the Social Harvest, the Harvest Festival, and Cinema in the Cellar, as well as numerous other initiatives that open their doors to the public with events dedicated to wine culture. Alongside these events, historic and deeply rooted local events such as the Sant'Angelo Grape Festival and the Fonte Grape Festival continue to draw visitors.
But the opportunity to experience the Marca Trevigiana doesn't stop at the vineyards. The events held this time of year become a starting point for exploring an area rich in offerings. Those participating in the Vendemmia Solidale (Solidarity Harvest) can delve deeper into the local cheesemaking tradition with visits to the aging cellars, refinement workshops, and sensory tastings dedicated to cheese; those choosing the Vendemmia Sociale (Social Harvest) can combine the experience with a visit to a historic villa and a tour of artisanal beer production.
The calendar of events can also be enriched with a wide range of experiences that allow you to discover the region in its various facets: from itineraries dedicated to the native Piave grape varieties, which intertwine vineyards, cellars, and rural history, to family activities and creative workshops related to the world of agriculture.
Nature lovers can combine their participation in the grape harvest with a kayak excursion along the Sile River to the evocative Burci Cemetery, while those wishing to delve deeper into the area's historical and cultural heritage can choose guided tours of some of the most beautiful UNESCO-listed Venetian villas, accompanied by tastings of Asolo Prosecco DOCG Superiore.
Rounding out the offerings are horseback rides through the vineyards, accompanied by aperitifs featuring local products, hands-on cheesemaking workshops, and activities that showcase the area's ancient dairy tradition. These experiences allow you to transform a day dedicated to the grape harvest into an opportunity to experience the landscape, traditions, and culture of the Marca Trevigiana in an even more authentic way.
There's no shortage of opportunities to discover the destination's historical, cultural, and naturalistic aspects: from visits to Treviso's underground bastions to Oderzo's archaeological trails, from e-bike itineraries through the Asolo Hills to explorations of the Caglieron Caves Park, every opportunity contributes to building a broader narrative of the area, made up of landscapes, traditions, craftsmanship, and hospitality.
The harvest season thus confirms the Treviso area's ability to transform an agricultural event into an opportunity for widespread discovery, where wine becomes a gateway to a broader wealth of experiences. An invitation to slow down, participate, and get to know the destination through action, experiencing firsthand the stories, flavors, and traditions that make it unique.
