the ONAV and Confcommercio Modena conference on the culture of conscious consumption.

The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality of Modena, aims to offer a complete overview of a highly topical issue involving health, road safety, public establishments and consumer habits, also shedding light on the recent measures that came into force with the new Highway Code.

The conference addresses the issue of alcohol consumption from multiple perspectives, through the intervention of experts in different sectors.

Specialized doctors will offer insights into the correct management of physical and mental health in relation to alcohol consumption, while Col. L. Ceccarelli, Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Modena, and Capt. F. Leone, Commander of the operational and radiomobile unit of Modena, will explain in detail the guiding principles, detection systems, procedures and sanctions in relation to crimes committed under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The social impact that alcohol consumption has on adults and young people will then be discussed, with a focus on the point of view of public establishments. In particular, we will discuss how the new Highway Code has generated concern among consumers, leading to a limitation in the consumption of alcoholic beverages for fear of possible repercussions. The conference aims to shed light on what appears to be a phenomenon of general misinformation, underlining that drinking responsibly is still possible.

The afternoon will be dedicated to more technical aspects: Dr. A. Brunelli, oenologist and popularizer, member of the technical area of the Consorzio tutela vini Valpolicella, will illustrate the techniques of total or partial dealcoholization of wine, followed by Dr. Vito Intini, President of ONAV, who will lead a tasting of dealcoholized or partially dealcoholized wines.

The event is free and open to all those interested in a serious and informed discussion on the topic.

"The new highway code has certainly led to an important reflection on alcohol consumption and a consequent negative impact on the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public establishments," says Confcommercio Modena. "It is not a question of demonizing consumption, but rather of promoting a culture of responsible drinking. Misinformation often plays a negative role, but if consumed in a conscious and moderate way, you can continue to enjoy wines or other alcoholic beverages. We are happy that this conference can shed light on this issue."
