It reopens for one of the events of “ Twenty events at 8.20pm ”, a review that takes place in Manduria and its marinas with the artistic direction of Ferdinando Arnò .
Jon Kenzie , a British soul singer-songwriter, takes the stage at the cinema theatre, and in his live performance he also hosts the musician Federico Laganà , a virtuoso percussionist and multi-instrumentalist from Salento.
It's not possible to enter because the private venue currently lacks the appropriate permits, but the concert will be projected live on a screen in Piazza Garibaldi, which the building overlooks: a way to rediscover, at least visually, this place of incredible beauty, introduce it to new generations, and hope for its reopening.
All events in the festival are free to attend.
Jon Kenzie is an established singer-songwriter from Manchester, UK, with musical roots firmly rooted in blues, folk, and soul. He is perhaps the perfect example of how an independent artist can survive and thrive in today's music industry: Jon has managed to produce and release four highly acclaimed solo albums without ever receiving the support of a record company. He built his career by starting out busking on the streets of Manchester. Through world tours, concerts, and festivals, he has gained thousands of fans around the world.
Until Friday the 28th, you can visit Stefano Rosselli's photography exhibition "Finally at the Sea" at the Ciracì grocery store in Piazza Ciracì. This exhibition offers a unique perspective on people and places, breaking away from the postcard image of Salento.
The last two events scheduled are “Silent disco” in the courtyard of the former Angelè, on Saturday 29th , and “In the cave in the light”, a dance performance by Anita Lorusso at sunset in a majestic quarry in the Manduria countryside, on Monday 31st .
