La Vigna sul Mare, among the first companies to embrace this important project which has reached its 10th edition this year, is located in Pescia Fiorentina, a few kilometers from the sea, and is active in the promotion of not only wine but also artistic culture . It is in fact closely linked to art and houses the permanent exhibition of the works of Gimas , painter of European essentialism and father of Massimo Masini, owner of the company together with his wife Francesca Serena Monghini.
On the occasion of Arte & Vino 2023 , designed precisely to combine the excellence of the wine-growing realities of Capalbio with contemporary art, from early October it is possible to embark on an intriguing journey to discover the wines and participating cellars, the natural and landscape beauties of this area of the Tuscan Maremma and enjoy the energy emanating from the works of art installed in the seven wineries that took part in the project .
At La Vigna sul Mare you can admire , free of charge and by reservation, the permanent exhibition of Gimas , which traces all his artistic phases marked by "stops" around the world and the touching installation by Angelo Marotta where a small fishing boat, reduced in shreds, it represents the complex path in the sea of life, between the continuous sinking and the slight re-emergence on the surface of the water, with the awareness that after every storm calm will come; a shipwreck in which every human being can find his lifeline.
Angelo Marotta has been exploring contemporary art in all its manifestations since the sixties. His studio on the seafront has been a reference point for the international culture of Porto Ercole for twenty years. He has exhibited in Milan, Verbier, Nice, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Villas sur Ollon, Vevei, Tuscania, Tarquinia, Viterbo and in Maremma from which he continues to experiment with the profound themes of the human soul and contemporaneity
At La Vigna sul Mare , a few kilometers from the beach of Capalbio, 7 hectares of vineyards are currently in production, producing wines from international and native grapes . Peculiarities of this cellar, which also houses 4 rooms for hospitality where art is an integral part of the welcome, are the sparkling wines, both classic method, two, and Charmat method, one, which bear the "made in Tuscany" brand ”. In addition to bubbles, still wines are produced from Vermentino, Sangiovese, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, trying to respect the nature and characteristics of the territory as much as possible.
The Rosso Toscana Igt Gimas and the Rosè della Càpita Metodo Classico wear two of the most important paintings by the artist Gimas as labels .
The winemaker consultant is Sergio Parmeggiani, while the cellar manager and company manager is Riccardo Simonelli.
