HISTORIC FAMILIES MEET TRÉSORS DE CHAMPAGNE

From September 28th to October 1st, a delegation of eleven historic Champagne houses will be hosted in Verona. This initiative marks a unique moment for the region: it is the first time an organized group of Champagne producers has visited Valpolicella to engage directly with Amarone producers and deepen their understanding of one of Italy's most iconic winemaking landscapes.

Promoted by Famiglie Storiche and Trésors de Champagne, the meeting stems from the desire to bring together two associations sharing numerous similarities. On one side, the thirteen companies grouped together in Famiglie Storiche, on the other, the houses that make up Trésors de Champagne: diverse in geography and winemaking traditions, yet united by the same production philosophy. In both experiences, the family is the heart of the business, while the vineyard and the terroir form the starting point for every decision. This model prioritizes continuity, attention to quality, and respect for local specificities over standardized production methods—a synergy of values that makes the two associations custodians of a tradition passed down from generation to generation.

The program includes a time for meeting and reflection, along with tastings, at Masi Monteleone21 on the afternoon of September 28th. In the evening, members of Famiglie Storiche and Trésors de Champagne will gather at the Antica Bottega del Vino for a convivial dinner, an informal opportunity for meeting and discussion designed to further strengthen mutual understanding and consolidate the bond between the two associations.

The French delegation will include representatives from Domaine Gaston Chiquet, Domaine Jules Lassalle, Domaine Duménil, Domaine Grongnet, Domaine Forget Chemin, Domaine Morel, Domaine Pertois Moriset, Domaine Bara, Domaine Roland Champion, Domaine Hervieux, and Domaine Charlier . During their stay, they will have the opportunity to visit some of the wineries associated with Famiglie Storiche, including Masi, Allegrini, Brigaldara, Musella, and Bertani , deepening their knowledge of Amarone and Valpolicella through an immersive tour to discover the region and its excellent winemaking.
