Wines are being produced now and the Consortium for the Protection of Bardolino has already announced the date of the Vintage 2013 Preview of Bardolino and Chiaretto.

2014 Preview Bardolino and Chiaretto

You can taste the new vintage on Sunday, March 16th, 2014 in Lazise. More than sixty producers will enliven with their products the historic building of the Venetian Customs house, on the Veneto shore of Lake Garda. As well as 200 are the wines available for a free tasting, to discover the Garda winemaking. Furthermore, on the lake front, it will be possible to know local products: cheese, salami, olive oil, honey and other goodies of agribusiness.

Bardolino Chiaretto: the positive trend

The wine guides have highlighted the remarkable growth in quality achieved in recent years by the designation, giving top honors to Bardolino and Chiaretto. The 2013 vintage saw a reduction in yields allowed for the production of Bardolino, but sales in 2013 have increased by 4% over the previous year.

The 2013 vintage

As for the latest harvest: «Our vinegrowers – the president of the Consortium for the Protection of Bardolino, Giorgio Tommasi, says – were challenged hardly by a difficult climate, but the experience gained by our supply chain, supported by the technical aid offered by the Consortium, made it possible to deal with the harvest in the best way. We will have wines consistent with our best traditions. The wines are children of a difficult vintage, but certainly interesting: Chiaretto is very fragrant and full of youthful freshness, Bardolino is light, spicy and probably will be waited a bit longer than usual».
