The sculptures of Giuseppe Bergomi, between Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci and Casale Marittimo , which will see the winery host a selection of sculptural works by the Brescian artist from 10 July to 3 November 2025 .
The initiative, conceived and curated by Paola Maria Formenti, will involve public and private spaces in the municipalities of Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, and Casale Marittimo, with the aim of creating a narrative that unites community and territory, intersecting art, history, nature, and architecture.
"Artists observe the world, choose themes that deeply engage them, filter them through their own sensitivity, and convey their perspective through tangible works. We winemakers, in some ways, do the same," explains Stanislaus Turnauer , owner of Argentiera. "Our winemaking project is founded on a splendid land, capable of producing excellent grapes that we transform into wines that express the beauty and richness of Bolgheri. A beauty that we appreciate, protect, and share through a refined wine tourism program, which we will enrich in the coming months thanks to three wonderful works by Giuseppe Bergomi on display in our cellar overlooking the Tuscan archipelago."
Those who book a visit and tasting package at Argentiera will be introduced to the artistic project by the reception team during the guided tours.
Giuseppe Bergomi is among the most authoritative exponents of contemporary Italian art. This solo exhibition, in particular, explores the human body , which the artist considers "an infinite book that you reinterpret each time from scratch." The three installations hosted at Argentiera feature Ilaria and Valentina, the artist's daughters, whose figures find diverse expression in varying poses, features, and materials.
The project is being carried out under the patronage of the Municipalities of Castagneto Carducci and Casale Marittimo, with the authorization of the Curia of Massa Marittima.
Argentiera | The estate is located at the southernmost tip of the Bolgheri DOC, on the hills of Donoratico, whose splendid vineyards overlook the Tuscan archipelago, reaching 200 meters above sea level—a distinctive and defining characteristic. The vineyard extends over 85 hectares in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, an enchanting location, a treasure trove of Italian charm and authenticity. Here, for 25 years, Argentiera has embodied the modern encapsulation of the winemaking vision of one of Europe's most prized wine regions. Founded in 1999, the estate has been owned since 2016 by Austrian entrepreneur Stanislaus Turnauer, supported by CEO Federico Zileri Dal Verme, winemaker Nicolò Carrara with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, and general manager Leonardo Raspini. The wines that best represent the estate and the region are Argentiera Bolgheri DOC Superiore, Villa Donoratico Bolgheri DOC Rosso, and the pure Cabernet Franc Ventaglio Toscana IGT.
