Follador dal 1769, a historic winery in Col San Martino in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has received two prestigious awards confirming its standing in the national and international wine scene. The company won two gold medals at the 2026 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) , the international competition dedicated to sparkling wines created by British critic Tom Stevenson, and was included in the 2027 Essential Guide to Italian Wines edited by Doctor Wine , a leading authority on the Italian wine scene.
" These results, achieved so quickly, represent an important confirmation for us. Being awarded gold in such a high-level international competition and being selected by the Doctor Wine Guide means seeing the quality of our work and the identity of our wines recognized, once again, in Italy and internationally. The international competition, considered among the most authoritative in the world in the sparkling wine sector, is distinguished by a judging panel composed of some of the world's leading experts in the category: founder Tom Stevenson , considered one of the leading international authorities on sparkling wine, Master of Wine Essi Avellan , and wine critic George Markus . The competition awarded the gold medal to Ruiol Castei Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG and Torri di Credazzo Cru Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, both from the 2025 vintage , while the Nani dei Berti Rive di Col San Martino Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG 2025 won the bronze medal . The CSWWC 2026 awards ceremony will be held on October 29 at Merchant Taylors' Hall in London.
This international success is accompanied by its inclusion in the 2027 Guide written by Daniele Cernilli. Now in its thirteenth edition and considered one of the main references in Italian winemaking, the guide has included Follador since 1769 among the distinctive wineries of the national scene, recognizing its consistent quality and production consistency.
