Until the end of February 2014 you can adopt rows of Barbera: who does, receives 12 bottles of Barbera Lanze Doc, a certificate of adoption, and can give his/her name to the row adopted, which is about 20 meters long. Already a lot of people in Italy and all over the world have acceded to the proposal over the years.
In Castagnole in Lanze you can adopt rows of Barbera, the custodians of the land, in order to preserve vineyards and landscape.
For some years now, Castagnole delle Lanze (City of Wine in the Asti area) has been promoting an interesting initiative: the adoption of rows of Barbera.
Let’s know better these areas and the initiative by the words of Mayor Marco Violardo:
“Unique and charming landscapes, which are colored differently with the pace of the seasons, and then aromas, food, wines, perfumes: the hills of Lanze are all this. Lands of great wines such as Barbera and Moscato. Spaces to visit slowly, wandering between rows of vines and environments shaped by nature and by man, discovering clod after clod an authentic, real, fascinating territory. Places where traditions associated with rural culture survive, as the game of “pallapugno”, religious art in churches and votive pillars that blend with the gentle slopes on which ancient villages dominate. Landscapes immortalized by Pavese, Fenoglio, Lajolo, Arpino, Nuto Revelli, whose pages suggest to the visitor endless routes... it is in these places where we invite you to experience a unique and exciting project with the “Adopt a Row in Lanze” initiative”.
Exactly the Municipality of Castagnole delle Lanze has re–launched the “Adopt a Row” initiative. The aim is to support the local viticulture giving manufacturers more opportunities to preserve the vineyards of Barbera and the magnificent scenery of Lanze. Adoptions feed a “parallel” market to the traditional and help to support the local economy. In addition, the “Adopt a Row” project has promoted the beauty of this area inviting more and more tourists to visit it. Those who adopt rows have become habitue of Castagnole and its surroundings, on the occasion of festivals, events and during harvest. The Lanze area, now, has a name even beyond the borders of Piedmont and Italy.
