The Arianna Occhipinti company is preparing to be one of the protagonists of Summa 2024, an international fair which for over 20 years has celebrated successful international winemakers at the Alois Lageder estate in Magrè in Italy, and of Real Wine Fair 2024, a two-day London event which celebrates some of the artisan producers from around the world.

On 13 and 14 April Arianna Occhipinti will welcome visitors to Summa at the Palazzo on the 1st floor of the Casòn Hirschprunn for two days dedicated to quality, healthy agriculture, the desire to experiment and a passion for wine. A mutual exchange in a welcoming environment with a historical flavor, where horizons open up and inspiration is always present. For the occasion, the new vintages of Sp68 rosso 2023, Sp68 Bianco 2023 and Frappato 2022 will be presented.
Real Wine Fair 2024, the maximum celebration of the terroir and the skills of artisanal growers, will be held in London on 28 and 29 April: it will be an opportunity to make known the personality of each wine in an environment animated by the presence of artisanal producers most talented people in the world. In addition to making known the passion and love for the land that has distinguished the company since the rental of the first hectare of vineyard in 2004.
Space will be given to the Contrada wines : the crus which, as micro-productions, express the oenological project of describing individual territories, small parcels, vineyards of a few hectares with very different characteristics. The Contrada 2021 and SM 2022 wines will be tasted.

Among the other wines for tasting: the Sp68 red 2022, the Sp68 white 2022, the Frappato 2022, Grotte Alte 2019 and the Siccagno 2021 , produced in the territories of Vittoria. For Arianna Occhipinti the terroir must be the protagonist of every wine: the wines maintain a fresh and elegant character thanks to a strong presence of sand on limestone and rocky layers; it is the soil that makes them original compared to the same vines grown elsewhere. Furthermore, the sheltered position within a valley, cooler and less humid in summer, protects the vines, maintaining a freshness that is difficult to obtain in other areas of the island.
Vinitaly 2024 will finally be an opportunity to meet Arianna Occhipinti and taste Grotte Alte 2019: 15 and 16 April at the Cerasuolo di Vittoria stand, located in the Sicily pavilion.
The twentieth harvest marks a phase of reflection and decision on how to best direct future energies, always maintaining focus on what guides the company on a daily basis: the creation of an excellent wine that respects the territory of origin and the health of consumers .
"Our participation in Summa and Real Wine Fair 2024 represents an important opportunity to share the energy we invest daily in the production of each wine." Declares Arianna Occhipinti, founder of the company. "We are happy to welcome visitors and offer them an authentic experience, where quality and passion for wine come together in a welcoming and stimulating environment. Through our wines, we want to convey the respect for biodiversity and the territory that has characterized the Occhipinti production philosophy for twenty years Wine is not just a product, but an authentic expression of our love for the land and for viticulture."
ARIANNA OCCHIPINTI
Arianna Occhipinti, born in Marsala and raised in Vittoria, inherited her passion for wine from her uncle Giusto, founder of the COS agricultural company, and from her architect father, who passed on to her a love for the countryside and an aptitude for planning. Her first encounter with wine occurred at the age of 17, accompanying her uncle to Vinitaly and becoming fascinated by him. After studying Viticulture and Oenology in Milan, he developed the idea that the only possible wine is natural wine, an authentic expression of the territory. In 2004 he returned to Sicily and started his company starting from one hectare of land cultivated with Nero d'Avola and Frappato next to the Fossa di Lupo millstone and in the following years, he expanded his vineyards by recovering small vineyards in different districts. In 2003, in a letter to the critic Luigi Veronelli, Arianna paid homage to the land and took a stand against industrial oenology and in 2012, an article in the New York Times launched her as a leading figure of natural wine on a global level. In 2013, she published the book "Natural Woman", in which she tells her story and her vision of wine, with the idea of encouraging and fueling a dream in readers.
The Occhipinti production philosophy is based on organic, biodynamic and natural agricultural practices in general, and natural winemaking methods both in the vineyards and in the cellar, perceiving the territory, the winemaker and agriculture as a single movement. For Arianna, wine must be authentic, a story of the territory, of the seasons and of the personality of those who produce it. The wine production includes 10 labels, with particular attention to district wines, which express the characteristics of the individual territories. In addition to wine, the company produces oil and, with the aim of conserving and protecting biodiversity and the balance between plants, animals, small organisms and Nature in general, Tumminia wheat is grown - an ancient native Sicilian variety - trees fruit such as pears, oranges, mandarins and citrons, and wild capers from the Iblei Mountains for a total of approximately 26 hectares, flanked by 1500 square meters of vegetable garden, interspersed with almond and carob trees. The production of flour, pasta, biscuits, juices, jams and marmalades makes up the Orto&Dispensa product line, transformed in collaboration with local artisans. Arianna Occhipinti's work is internationally recognized, with distribution in 60 countries and an annual production of approximately 160,000 bottles.
