The company from Vazzola (Treviso) is offering an open-air training day to students from the Paolo Veronese school in Coste di Maser.

An immersive experience in nature to rediscover the value of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture: this is the heart of the fourth edition of the educational day promoted by the Giorgio Cecchetto winery in collaboration with the Municipality of Maser , in the setting of the Bosco delle Coste (Treviso), part of the UNESCO MAB Reserve of the Asolo hills. On Saturday 17 May, the students of the Paolo Veronese Secondary School of Maser participated in an open-air educational path , designed to raise awareness among new generations of the natural world and environmental issues through concrete activities, linked to the protection of the ecosystem and the development of integrated agriculture . The forest, which extends for over three hectares and boasts the FSC®-C181022 certification (responsible forest management), offers an ideal context to explore the virtuous relationship between agriculture and the environment.

“The philosophy of our company is based on the balance between wine production and protection of the territory – declared Sara Cecchetto , the company's sustainability manager –. Bringing the kids to the Bosco di Maser means showing them that viticulture can and must coexist with biodiversity, respect for the soil and natural resources. Seeing students involved, attentive and participating confirms that transmitting these values is an integral part of our work. Cultivating the land, for us, also means cultivating awareness: every initiative like this is a further step towards an agriculture that educates, regenerates and looks to the future with responsibility”.

The day began with the beekeeping workshop organized in collaboration with the Treviso Provincial Committee of the Veneto Regional Beekeepers Association : here the students had the opportunity to explore the complex world of the hive up close, learning about the different types of bees and the essential role that each of them plays within their ecosystem. The botanical activity led by Francesca Bella , an expert in reforestation and climate strategies for Etifor a spin-off of the University of Padua –, instead brought the students closer to the world of plants, teaching them to recognize and classify them, illustrating the differences between family, genus and species. After collecting leaves in the woods, each student created a card to insert into the class herbarium. The activity ended with a symbolic award and a souvenir for everyone, transforming the experience into a shared moment of discovery.

Finally, during the refreshment with local products prepared by the Nobili Ricercatori del Gusto di Maser , the kids took part in a guided oil tasting conducted by the food and wine historian Renato Grando , who offered food for thought on the cultural and sustainable value of this local excellence.

The initiative is part of the path undertaken by Cecchetto as a Benefit Company , a legal form adopted in 2023, which consolidates the company's commitment to ethical and responsible viticulture, in constant dialogue with the territory and the new generations.
