The interests of the environment, the territory and the protection of agriculture: we trust that the demands of the agricultural world will be heard, not only for operators in the primary sector, but in the interest of the whole territory ".

Tommaso Visca, president of Confagricoltura Torino , comments on the outcome of the meeting last Friday, via videoconference, between the mayors of Frossasco Federico Comba, of Roletto Cristina Storello, of Cumiana Roberto Costelli and the delegated councilor for the environment of the Metropolitan City Barbara Azzarà.

The meeting, organized at the request of Confagricoltura Turin, made it possible to clarify the progress of the case presented by the Kastamonu company regarding the project for the construction, in the territory of Frossasco, of a plant for the production of chipboard panels and a new plant for energy recovery from 25 MW .

"We will carefully follow the practice - declares Ercole Zuccaro, director of Confagricoltura Torino starting from the compatibility of the plant: the proposal for the new settlement in the municipality of Frossasco is arousing great concern also in the neighboring territories. We reminded the institutions that in the area concerned important agricultural productions are carried out, with high quality meat and milk livestock farms; we also have vineyards of the Pinerolese doc, orchards, meadows and arable crops . The agricultural companies - adds the director of Confagricoltura - have set up production protocols that respect the environment and are subjected to strict controls regarding phytosanitary treatments, fertilization and emissions into the atmosphere, for the creation of quality productions with attention to people's health and the environment. Over the centuries, farmers have built an economic heritage, social and environmental importance of great importance, that we want to strongly protect , in the interest of all the farms in the area and the companies that work in the transformation and distribution of agri-food products ".
