Now in its second edition, the recognition promoted by Buone Notizie and NeXt rewards the Treviso-based company for its commitment to responsible viticulture.

The initiative promoted by Corriere della Sera , from the Buone Notizie insert, in collaboration with NeXt Nuova Economia X tutti , analyzed the financial statements of over 170 Italian companies to encourage correct promotion and dissemination of sustainability issues and ESG development strategies (environmental, social and governance). Among the protagonists of the second edition of the award on non-financial reporting are twelve winning companies and seventeen special mentions .
The award ceremony was held in Milan on Monday 17 April at 12.00 in live streaming from the Corriere della Sera office in Via Solferino. The event, presented by Elisabetta Soglio, head of Buone Notizie , and Luca Raffaele, general manager of NeXt, awarded an authoritative acknowledgment to the companies and organizations that have committed themselves systematically and punctually to the implementation of the ecological transition and who have their performance evaluated.
“We are really proud of the recognition obtained – declares Sara Cecchetto , sustainability manager of the Cecchetto Giorgio farm – as it represents a further push to continue this path of environmental and social responsibility, aiming to create increasingly exhaustive and transparent reports in the future. Today the world of wine must take care of the environment and the society in which it operates, combining quality wine and wine production with a system of good practices to be adopted in the vineyard, in the cellar and in the area . It is necessary to be aware of one's environmental and social impact, spreading a clear, precise and coherent message to local communities, which must be involved in projects to protect the balance between man and nature".
There are six indicators linked to ESG criteria on which the evaluation analysis devised by NeXt is based, a reality that makes use of a study centre, a network made up of 45 business and consumer organisations, trade unions and civil associations and the support of a scientific committee with more than 30 academics coordinated by professor Leonardo Becchetti. Cecchetto provided information on the organisation's governance, people and the work environment, consumer relations, the supply chain, attention to the environment and the local community. For each of these categories there are 5 elements, for a total of 30 items, to which scores from 1 to 5 have been assigned. The chosen indicators and aspects provide a qualitative evaluation which does not translate into a ranking, but into a report which highlights the best practices implemented by the realities involved in the initiative, also giving space to "special mentions" on areas and topics of relevance.
The 2021 Sustainability Report, presented to the public last November and today awarded by Corriere della Sera, is the first non-financial report of the Cecchetto Giorgio Agricultural Company. The document is drawn up according to the international reference standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and in turn proves to be sustainable because it is printed with vegetable inks and created using renewable energy. The Report shows in a transparent manner the company's economic but above all environmental and social performance, together with its future objectives and projects.
