A company that, first and foremost, does good to the territory. This is the synthesis that emerges from the work carried out by the Ferraris Agricola company , which has become synonymous with Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, to achieve the Equalitas certification , which involves the measurement of all company parameters and the general performance of the company but also the definition of new objectives, from year to year.
With a turnover of 1,490,000 euros and a growth of 16%, 12 employees, all with permanent contracts, with a salary that exceeds the minimum required by the National Contract by at least 25% and 50% women, the winery is a business model that works . Welfare, in particular, is a distinctive element, starting with the flexibility of hours and days of vacation, which can thus facilitate the personal and family needs of employees.
Among the fundamental parameters of Equalitas, there is the financial health of the company, which allows it to bring wealth to the territory by creating well-being and, in the case of Ferraris, induced tourism. In 2024, in fact, investments were 400,000 euros, approximately 28% of the total turnover.
The largest project, recently realized, in fact, was the opening of the Ruchè Museum, an important project, which allowed to revitalize an area of Monferrato still to be valorized, as demonstrated by the numbers: 7,182 people passed through the two stores in 2024, in the cellar and at the Museum, since the beginning of the year.
Finally, environmental sustainability is a fundamental chapter. The company has invested 100,000 euros in the creation of an agri-solar roof with the help of batteries that make it independent, just like in the case of the huts, and in the installation of a charging station for electric cars, available to both customers and employees. In the vineyard, thanks to the use of sensors and huts, phytosanitary interventions are reduced by up to 30% and work is now underway on an ultrasound project that analyses the quantity of vegetation on the row, which could reduce the use of chemicals by up to 50%.
A commitment that is also reflected in the cellar, thanks to the adoption of lighter bottles that has reduced the quantity of glass by 900 quintals per year, which between the entry and exit of the goods in the cellar, means the reduction of 1,800 quintals of weight that travels on rubber, in addition to the relative energy savings on the production of the bottle itself by the glassworks.
