The traditional celebration of the best organic and biodynamic wines in Italy is ready to be renewed. For the thirty-third consecutive year, Legambiente invites enthusiasts and producers to participate in an event that stands out in the national panorama: the National Tasting Review of Organic and Biodynamic Wines.
An unmissable moment, created in collaboration with the degree course in Viticulture and Enology of the University of Pisa and with the media partnership of La Nuova Ecologia , which focuses on the excellence of the wine sector, promoting sustainable and certified agriculture, capable of responding to the challenges of the ecological transition. The event does not limit itself to extolling the quality of organic and biodynamic wines, but underlines the crucial role that this agricultural model plays for the future of the environment and the Italian economy.
The event will see the participation of companies from all over the country, with productions selected in different categories: 2024 whites, whites from vintages prior to 2024, rosés, young and refined reds, dessert wines, sparkling wines. The winning companies will receive a plaque of recognition during a dinner-event that will be held in Rispescia on June 7, 2025, in the company of illustrious guests and representatives of the wine sector.
Among the new features of this XXXIII edition, the award for female viticulture stands out, designed to enhance companies led by women that stand out for innovation and production quality. Alongside this recognition, the event confirms its attention to the issues of environmental sustainability , with a plaque dedicated to companies that excel in respecting the environment throughout the entire production process, and social responsibility , reserved for those who are committed to ethical and supportive practices. Among the award winners are also native wines.
Special awards will also be given for heroic agriculture , celebrating the companies that operate in extreme conditions, and for the best value for money , highlighting products that offer a perfect balance between accessibility and excellence. A specific award will also go to wines that stand out for the best pairing with vegetarian dishes , reflecting a more inclusive vision and attentive to new food trends.
These awards, together with the selection of the best labels in the traditional categories, celebrate the excellence and diversity of the Italian wine scene, with an eye to the future of the sector.
The deadline to submit the participation form, signed and completed, along with six bottles for each competing wine, is May 2, 2025. The samples will be evaluated by a commission composed of university professors, professional sommeliers and oenologists, who will conduct anonymous tastings to ensure impartiality and transparency.
Participation is free, with the only cost borne by the companies relating to the shipping of the wines. It is a unique opportunity to highlight their excellence and promote the value of organic and biodynamic agriculture in the national panorama.
