An exhibition space, the organization of conferences, workshops and networking initiatives characterize the presence at Biofach of the international project born with the aim of transferring the values and benefits that organic products bring to people's health and the environment.

The commitment of “Being Organic in Eu” for the promotion and development of organic products passes through Biofach 2025, the international fair that brings together producers, distributors, experts and organic operators, in Nuremberg from 11 to 14 February.

The project, born from the collaboration between FederBio and Naturland, and co-financed by the European Union with the aim of promoting knowledge of the sector and raising awareness of healthier and more sustainable nutrition, will be held at the Nuremberg event with a large institutional space and the organization of networking and discussion moments.

In the large exhibition area (Hall 7A - Stand 173) you will be able to learn more about all the initiatives organised at Biofach to promote the culture, knowledge and benefits of organic farming, which does not use synthetic chemicals to protect ecosystems and soil fertility.

These are activities carried out as part of the Being Organic in Eu campaign promoted by FederBio in collaboration with Naturland and co-financed by the European Union pursuant to EU Reg. n.1144/2014. In particular, on Tuesday 11 February, at 3 pm, in the Riga room, a highly topical issue such as the water emergency will be discussed, in the meeting entitled “ Fixing Broken Water Cycles: organic farming's role in the EU Water Resilience Strategy ”, organized in collaboration with IFOAM OE and FederBio.

The event aims to explore the strategic role of organic farming in the fight against the growing problem of water scarcity. Experts will present European and national initiatives, including the EU Water Resilience Strategy, and the opportunities offered by organic farming to preserve water resources.

At 6:00 pm, in the San Pietroburgo hall, “Being Organic in Eu” invites organic operators and representatives of European and national institutions to the networking initiative with tastings of organic products. A meeting dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences, during which the project coordinators, FederBio and Naturland, will present objectives and purposes, anticipating the next activities of the campaign and taking stock of the initiatives carried out.

The “Being Organic in EU” activities at Biofach will continue on Thursday 14 February, at 11.30 in the Seoul room, with the round table that will analyse the update of the EU organic regulation and the topic of international trade. The meeting, which will include, among others, the participation of Henri Delanghe, Deputy Head of Unit Organics, DG AGRI of the European Commission, aims to take stock of the results achieved and the upcoming challenges of the sector, with particular attention to the internationalisation of EU organic products.

The press conference “Scenarios and trends for organic products on the German and Italian markets ” will follow at 12.00, during which the trends and evolution of the markets, consumer preferences and trends, prospects and results of the Being Organic in Eu project will be presented. Speakers will include: Domenico Lunghi of BolognaFiere, Aldo Cervi of FederBio, Markus Pfeuffer of Naturland, Joanna Wierzbicka of IFOAM Organic Europe, Simone Taddei of FederBio, and Ann-Kathrin Trappenberg of Naturland.

“This year too, Being Organic confirms its leading role at Biofach, with a rich program of conferences and initiatives aimed at promoting organic farming as a model of innovation, quality and environmental responsibility - underlined Paolo Carnemolla, Secretary General of FederBio - In a context increasingly attentive to sustainability, it is essential to enhance the benefits of organic, in the protection of biodiversity, soil fertility and in the mitigation of climate change. The participation of Being Organic in EU at international events such as Biofach underlines the concrete commitment of the project for the development of European organic, creating strong synergies between operators in the sector and raising awareness of the need for a paradigm shift in the way of producing and consuming food, supporting a more ethical, healthy and resilient eating style”.
