Three new sparkling wines from Oltrepò Pavese enrich the offer of a family business that has been among the most representative realities of Valpolicella Classica and Lugana for 120 years: #laprimabolla is Tommasi's new enological challenge.

After 120 years of great red wines such as Amarone and white Lugana from Lake Garda, Tommasi presents # laprimabolla of Tenuta di Caseo , or rather, the first bubbles: the new sparkling wines of Oltrepò Pavese , expression of one of the territories more prestigious than the Classic Method, which the wines themselves evoke right from their name. In fact, their labels read 530 Pinot Nero Rosé, 470 Pinot Nero and 410 Chardonnay and are three expressions of the Brut Classic Method , which arise from 90 hectares of vineyards among the most significant elevations of the Oltrepò Pavese, located on the hills between 410 , 470 and 530 meters above sea level, around Tenuta di Caseo in the municipality of Colli Verdi, in the Alta Valle Versa , acquired by the Tommasi family in 2013.

" Our family loves challenges - comments Piergiorgio Tommasi, Commercial Director Italy of Tommasi Family Estates - and the new" Metodo Classico "line fully represents the spirit with which Tommasi faces the present to realize the future. We are known and appreciated all over the world. world for our red wines, for the Amarone which is the emblem of our company, the Lugana of Lake Garda, but we have always wanted to be an active part of the world in which we work and intercept its trends. to other territories such as Tuscany, Basilicata, Puglia as well as in the beautiful Tenuta di Caseo, in Lombardy, where these new sparkling wines are born. The Classic Method of Tenuta di Caseo, therefore, represents a new stage in the long winemaking experience of our company and we hope that is appreciated by an audience as wide and curious as possible, because these wines have a young and versatile spirit and are born to make different moments unique of consumption, from an aperitif to a great gastronomic encounter ".

530 Pinot Nero Rosé Metodo Classico Brut, vintage 2017 and aged for 36 months on the lees, comes from the highest vines of Tenuta di Caseo, from Pinot Nero grapes in purity. It is a wine of character, where the aromas of red fruits and dog rose emerge, refined and pleasant, fresh and with a pleasant acidity that makes it perfect for a romantic summer dinner.

470 Pinot Nero Metodo Classico Brut comes from 100% Pinot Nero grapes, dry and intriguing. Millesimato 2017 and aged for 36 months on the lees, 470 Pinot Noir shows a dense and fine foam, thin and persistent bubbles and a fresh scent like the breeze of a June morning.
Ideal for aperitifs, lunches or dinners, it goes very well with risotto, fried food, grilled fish and white meat.

410 Chardonnay Metodo Classico Brut is produced with 100% Chardonnay grapes, vintage 2017 with 36 months aging on the lees. It is an elegant sparkling wine, with a subtle and continuous bubble. Perfect to animate an aperitif with friends or for a fish dinner, an ideal wine for the most pleasant summer evenings.

Three sparkling wines that are the expression of one of the most suitable territories in Italy, Oltrepò Pavese is in fact the third European region for the production of Pinot Noir, among the most important of the Classic Method. The land on which the vineyards of Tenuta di Caseo are born are mainly composed of clays with veins of active limestone, which contribute to guaranteeing a marked minerality to the wines. A terroir, which together with the meticulous work in the cellar and in the vineyards, ensures these wines a remarkable aging capacity.
The production of 530 Pinot Nero Rosé, 470 Pinot Nero and 410 Chardonnay is limited: about 6 / 8,000 bottles per type.

A family and a group that work for the present and the future of Italian wine. Tommasi represents the history of Valpolicella and beyond. With six wine estates in five regions - Tommasi in Veneto, Caseo in Lombardia, Casisano in Montalcino and Poggio al Tufo in Tuscan Maremma, Surani in Puglia and Paternoster in Basilicata - and a partnership in Chianti Classico with La Massa - the group has the goal of creating great wines, enhancing the terroir. The picture is completed by the cultural and wine-growing project De Buris, linked to the Valpolicella Classica area, the recovery of Villa De Buris and the Amarone Classico DOC Riserva.
Four generations of pioneers, explorers, precursors and above all visionaries, attentive to the value of quality in every production phase, respectful of traditional procedures but open to experimentation.
With the unique experience and knowledge cultivated and preserved over time, the Tommasi family intends to enhance each territory, binding itself to a path of sustainability and hospitality.
The care for hospitality is expressed through the structures of Villa Quaranta in Valpolicella, Albergo Mazzanti and Caffè Dante Bistrot in Verona and Agriturismo Poggio al Tufo in Pitigliano, Maremma Tuscany.
