Luca Speri takes over from Tommasi as president of the Association that unites thirteen historic Valpolicella businesses.

It's time for a handover at Famiglie Storiche and Antica Bottega del Vino. The association, which brings together thirteen of the most established and respected wineries in Valpolicella, has officially elected Luca Speri of Speri Viticoltori as its president, while Giacomo Boscaini of Masi Agricola has been appointed as the new president of Bottega Vini, a historic Veronese food and wine company, recently opened in Cortina.

Luca Speri succeeds Pierangelo Tommasi , who since 2022 has accompanied the Association with commitment and vision through an important stage of its journey , strengthening its identity and consolidating its presence in Italy and abroad.

"I assume the presidency of Famiglie Storiche with pride, gratitude, and a strong sense of responsibility. I thank Pierangelo Tommasi for the passion and dedication with which he has led the association over the years, helping to strengthen its identity and prestige. I would also like to thank all the members for their trust in me. I will work in a spirit of collaboration to ensure continuity in the association's journey, seeking to enhance our history and that of our prestigious denominations, while looking confidently to the future," declared the new President. He will be joined by Maddalena Pasqua of Bisceglie di Musella and Franco Piona of Torre d'Orti as vice-presidents, with Pierangelo Tommasi remaining on the Board of Directors as past president and Armando Castagnedi of Tenuta Sant'Antonio as a director.

"I thank all the partners and members of the Board of Directors for their support, trust, and spirit of collaboration that have characterized these years of shared work. Together, we have helped strengthen the role of Famiglie Storiche as a reference point for the promotion of Amarone, accompanying an important evolutionary journey that has led this great wine to be increasingly recognized as a contemporary fine wine, capable of communicating with today's restaurant industry and consumers. I leave the presidency with satisfaction and with the certainty that the new President will continue this journey with energy, vision, and passion, continuing to enhance the unique heritage we represent," said the outgoing president as he passed the baton.

Antica Bottega del Vino is a food and wine project owned by ten of the historic family estates (Allegrini, Begali, Brigaldara, Masi, Musella, Speri, Tedeschi, Tenuta Sant'Antonio, Tommasi, and Zenato). It is a Veronese and international benchmark for hospitality, and has gained worldwide recognition thanks to its prestigious wine list.

"Antica Bottega del Vino is much more than a restaurant: it is a symbol of Veronese wine culture, a historical and human heritage that speaks to our city, the value of hospitality, and the values shared by Famiglie Storiche. For me, who experiences the world of wine not only as a profession but as a true personal passion, taking on this role is a source of great pride and gratitude. I respectfully embrace the work done so far and the results achieved, while fully aware of the responsibility that comes with leading such a special business. Together with the members of Famiglie Storiche, the Board of Directors, the management, and the entire team, we will continue to work enthusiastically to enhance Antica Bottega del Vino, preserving its identity, history, and soul, and guiding it with balance towards new growth opportunities," commented the new President Giacomo Boscaini.

The Bottega's Board of Directors will consist of Vice Presidents Giordano Begali di Begali and Alberto Zenato di Zenato, while Sabrina Tedeschi di Tedeschi will remain on the board as Past President. This team is part of a journey of continuity, drawing on a history spanning centuries and a project that, over the years, has successfully combined respect for tradition with the ability to renew itself. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of partners, administrators, management, and collaborators, Bottega has consolidated the success of its historic Verona location and celebrated the opening of its new Cortina d'Ampezzo location at the end of 2025. These milestones demonstrate the solidity of a group that has grown over time without losing its identity.

“I would like to sincerely thank Sabrina for these years of shared work,” said Luca Nicolis, Director of Antica Bottega del Vino . “It has been an intense journey that has allowed us to grow together, achieving important goals. Today the time has come to pass the baton, and I hope the new President and the new Board of Directors continue this path of growth, continuing to look with ambition to the opportunities that lie ahead.” Outgoing President Sabrina Tedeschi emphasized the value of teamwork that has characterized her tenure: “I thank Luca Nicolis, the Bottega team, the Board of Directors, and the partners for the trust and support received over the years. We have always worked with great enthusiasm and looking in the same direction. The results achieved are the fruit of this positive spirit and the ability to work as a team, elements that have accompanied—and will continue to do so—every step of our journey.”

With the renewal of their positions, Famiglie Storiche and Antica Bottega del Vino confirm their commitment to promoting the cultural and winemaking heritage of Valpolicella, in the spirit of continuity and a shared vision. Two entities united by the desire to promote the excellence of the region, strengthening its role as a benchmark in the winemaking and hospitality landscape, both in Italy and around the world.
