On Saturday, August 1st, Cantina Rauscedo opened its doors to celebrate its 75th anniversary : an evening that brought together members, employees, institutional representatives, and guests to celebrate the cooperative's journey and look forward, with renewed enthusiasm, to the company's coming years. The event thus kicks off a calendar of anniversary-themed events , scheduled throughout 2026.
Leading the evening was Simon Staffler , expert taster and face of Falstaff Italia, who welcomed those present and introduced the celebratory video created especially for the anniversary: a visual story of the winery's 75-year history, from its foundation in 1951 to the present day.
Then, the President of Cantina Rauscedo, Antonio Zuliani , presented the cooperative's first Sustainability Report , a document that demonstrates the company's commitment to making the value generated for members and the local area increasingly measurable and transparent.
"The renewal process we have undertaken is based on a fundamental principle: quality," stated Zuliani. "This is why we have strengthened our production structure with the addition of new, highly qualified professionals, who will join our long-standing staff, who have played a key role in the company's growth over the years. At the same time, we have invested in the innovation of our production infrastructure and cellar, with the aim of constantly improving our grape processing and transformation processes. This commitment also involves our members, who are supported in a process of continuous professional growth, so that they can best express the value of the terroir and strengthen the identity of our wines. Only through constant improvement can we consolidate our customers' trust and win new ones."
It was then the turn of General Manager Flavio Geretto , appointed to lead the cooperative only a few months ago and already a tangible sign of the new direction undertaken by Cantina Rauscedo, who illustrated the company's future plans and the guidelines for development in the coming years, in a path of continuity with the cooperative's history, but projected towards an increasingly international and contemporary vision of the brand.
The 75th anniversary coincides with a profound renewal of the cooperative's image , which has affected the company headquarters, reception areas and brand positioning, a process aimed at strengthening the identity of Cantina Rauscedo by enhancing its history without sacrificing an international and contemporary perspective.
During his speech, the Director then unveiled the two celebratory magnums created for the occasion, one of Refosco and one of Sauvignon , iconic grapes of the Friulian denomination, personalized with a label designed specifically for the 75th anniversary, and then shared with guests during the evening.
"The 75th anniversary represents a moment of awareness: we are proud of the journey that has brought us this far, but even more determined to build what we will be tomorrow. This confidence stems from a heritage that I have come to know and appreciate even more in recent months: a membership base deeply rooted in the cooperative, a visionary governance structure, and employees with among the most qualified technical, agronomic, and oenological expertise in Italy," added Geretto. The renovation of the headquarters is the first concrete sign of a broader project to enhance the image of the winery and the values of our community, because we believe that every great change must start from its roots. We want to strengthen Cantina Rauscedo as a recognizable brand, to be told and communicated internationally, capable of demonstrating to the world the value of Friuli and its winemaking heritage. We are also preparing to seize the important opportunity of Pordenone, Italian Capital of Culture 2027, convinced that wine can be one of the most authentic ambassadors of our region. We have a 75-year history behind us that provides us with a solid foundation; ahead of us is the challenge of continuing to be a leading player in a rapidly changing wine world, where we compete with increasingly larger companies. In this scenario, collaboration is not an option, but the main path to generating shared value between members, the region, and the supply chain. We do not consider this anniversary a point of arrival, but rather a responsibility we assume towards the future of the winery and those who will come after us. us. A challenge we intend to address with clear plans, coherent investments, and a vision shared with our members, our collaborators, and our local community."
The profound connection between Cantina Rauscedo and the local area was confirmed by the numerous institutional speeches that followed throughout the evening. A video message from the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida , conveyed best wishes for the milestone achieved by the Friulian cooperative, followed by a message from the President of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga . Also speaking on stage were Hon. Alessandro Ciriani , Member of the European Parliament, and Stefano Zannier , Regional Councillor for Agri-food, Forestry and Fishery Resources of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, who reiterated the institutions' appreciation for Cantina Rauscedo's role in the regional and national winemaking landscape. The Mayor of San Giorgio della Richinvelda, Michele Leon , concluded the series of speeches, bringing greetings from the community that hosts the cooperative.
The celebrations continued with the unveiling of a new artwork, unveiled in the presence of artist Giorgio Celiberti, who explained its significance and connection to the cooperative's history and local area. A souvenir photo with company employees was also commemorated. A guided tour of the winery followed, offering an up-close look at the places and processes that have brought Cantina Rauscedo wines to life for 75 years. The celebrations then continued with a convivial buffet and a DJ set by Nico Bignucolo, who entertained guests and members until late into the evening with music and cocktails, in a festive atmosphere that marked Cantina Rauscedo's 75th anniversary.
With this evening, Cantina Rauscedo wanted to pay tribute to a journey built over seven decades of cooperation , sharing with members, institutions, and the local community a vision for the coming years with the goal of continuing to create value for its members, promoting the region, and consolidating its role as a benchmark for Friulian wine and among the leading producers in the Italian wine scene.
The evening marks the first of a series of events that will accompany the 75th anniversary celebrations throughout 2026. The next step is set for October 7 , when Cantina Rauscedo will host an in-depth conference dedicated to the future of the wine sector, an opportunity to continue, together with members, institutions, and the local community, the process of reflection begun in this first stage of the anniversary.
