This is demonstrated by Alejandro Bulgheroni, an Argentine entrepreneur of Italian origins, one of the most important in the world in the energy and agriculture sectors, as well as a passionate wine producer.
Bulgheroni is convinced that the land represents a timeless value, capable of always providing sustenance, just as his father reminded him, who decided to become a farmer more than forty years ago, focusing on vineyards, a cellar and even a stable. A lesson that Alejandro feels is even more relevant today: the land is a concrete and lasting heritage, capable of resisting market turbulence.
It is no coincidence that more and more investors, companies and individuals, are looking at Italy with interest. Our country, with its excellent winemaking and the charm of its agricultural landscape, continues to attract capital from all over the world. “If you wait for everything to be perfect in life, you will never do anything,” Bulgheroni declared in an interview with Tenute Agricole 24 , underlining that the time to act is now, precisely when the context seems most difficult.
Its commitment in Italy is reflected in four extraordinary estates, distributed in the most prestigious territories of Tuscany: Dievole in Chianti Classico, Podere Brizio in Montalcino, Tenuta Le Colonne and Tenuta Meraviglia in Bolgheri. In Castagneto Carducci, inside the historic Cava di Cariola, Bulgheroni recently inaugurated a cutting-edge winery worth 23 million euros. An investment that also had the support of the Tuscany Region, thanks to a large environmental recovery project, intended to restore value to the territory.
“The quality of the wines we produce here is exceptional. This is one of the best terroirs in the area,” explained Bulgheroni, who is thrilled to have chosen Tuscany to expand his international winemaking business, which already has 14 estates around the world and over 1,100 hectares of vineyards.
The one who convinced him to focus on Italy was the famous winemaker Alberto Antonini, who has been collaborating with the Argentine entrepreneur for years. “Alberto always told me that I had to invest in Tuscany, and so we chose to do it in its three symbolic territories: Montalcino, Chianti Classico and Bolgheri. We completed the triptych,” says Bulgheroni.
Looking to the future, the entrepreneur emphasizes the need to consolidate the projects already underway: “We have developed wineries in Latin America, the United States, Europe and Australia. Now is the time to grow these businesses, consolidate their positioning and complete what we have started. There will be time, eventually, for new investments”.
A clear vision, which combines passion, strategy and respect for the territory. An example of how, even in the most complex moments, agriculture – and in particular wine – can represent a solid and prospective investment.
