In the ancient stube of the seventeenth century (for non–smokers) dishes of the peasant cuisine typical of our South Tyrolean area have always been served, to say, strong and nutritious dishes that helped to restore the strength of peasantry subjected to great physical effort.

However, the gastronomic offer has been greatly enriched since Luis Rottensteiner, in 1983, took over the restaurant. Today, lighter South Tyrolean dishes are offered, so that tradition and modern culinary culture have merged in the best way: for this reason they have been rewarded several times.

From the so–called "Schlutzkrapfen" and a trio of dumplings, to mixed appetizers and soups, to veal shank, pork ribs or duck breast, without forgetting desserts and cakes, everything is prepared in a light and tasty way and is served in a pleasant and personal way by his wife Edith and his sister Greti.

Most of the products are of own production: the wines are of the house – Müller Thurgau and Vernatsch – as well as chestnuts, fruits, must and more. The person responsible for this sector is his brother Georg Rottensteiner, who is skillfully dealing with it: he enriches the wine list also with other valuable wines from South Tyrol and Italy.
