Zaia: «Prosecco toward global success». Thanks to all the producers

Zaia, president of the Veneto Region, commented the production data released by the consortium of Prosecco DOC and which can be summarized in more than 240 million bottles produced in 2013, an increase of 24 percent over the previous year.

Zaia said: «The revolution of Prosecco, which I started as a Regional Councillor and concluded as a Minister, is giving the expected effects, which I summarize in income to the wine industry, impulse for the export sector, enhancement and promotion of the image of ’Made in Veneto’, ’Made in the North East’ and of the Italian Style in the wine world. I want to thank all the producers, those who in the last decade have realized the value and importance of this Designation of our own, as well as those who have broken their backs for decades on the slopes of the Treviso hills, from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene, to lay the foundation and give the stability that brought this wine to the global success».
