Wine: Valoritalia 2012, 1 billion certified bottles, since 2012 also organic wines

  • 06/12/2013

Valoritalia, a body for the certification of quality wines, certified over a billion bottles. For the first time, they have also been certified in "Bio" wines.

The 176 denominations (131 DOC and 45 DOCG) correspond to 60% of the Italian denomination production. Added to this are the checks on 41 IGT wines and the certifications issued for the first time also to organic wines: these are the 2012 numbers of Valoreitalia.

The great news of the year for Valoritalia however concerns the organic certification.

"That of organic must be considered today a real philosophy to which the company decides to adhere, having to completely reorganize its production system - said Pelissetti - instead there are many companies that launch themselves on these profitable and trendy markets for purely economic rather than ethical, failing to follow the philosophy that should guide this type of production. Valoritalia proposes itself to operators in the organic sector as an essential partner to enhance their production by applying clear and rigorous certification standards, guaranteeing also in this sector the maximum transparency and guarantee for all producers and consumers ".
