ITALIAN WINE AND ITALIAN OENOLOGY
- Agriculture Bonus 2025: contributions up to 80%. The Lombardy Region allocates €7 million for efficient irrigation systems as part of the 2023-2027 PSN/CAP.
- Sustainability: The weight of the bottle . Packaging accounts for up to 40% of a wine's environmental footprint, with 80% due to glass. Design needs to be rethought.
- Beach reds: a growing trend Amarone, Bolgheri, Chianti, and Brunello are becoming lighter and can be enjoyed chilled.
- Low-alcohol Italian wines: the trend has begun. Consortia are revising their regulations to lower the minimum alcohol content.

EVENTS AND MARKET TRENDS
- Wine e-commerce: sparkling wines lead the way, whites overtake. Sparkling wines account for 56% of online sales; still white wines (18%) outsell red wines (16%). The younger demographic is growing.
- White wine dominates summer 2025. According to Vinarius, 50% of wine shops list it as the most popular wine, followed by sparkling wines, rosés, and reds.
