Gambero Rosso has selected the 13 best Pinot Grigio from Friuli Venezia Giulia under 20 euros. Originally from Burgundy and a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir, this grape variety found a new home in Italy in the 1960s, thanks to the commercial success of Pinot Grigio di Santa Margherita. Distinctive for its grey-pink berries, it is often vinified as a white wine, but can offer fascinating coppery nuances if left in contact with the skins.
