The new study of Harvard says that the male heart is safe from pollution with the flavonoids of wine and chocolate
The study presented by Jia Zhong, student at the Harvard School of Public Health of Boston, at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2014 in Chicago says that high intakes of flavonoids shield the heart of men from the risks associated with air pollution.
An increase for 48 hours of the average levels of polluting particles in the air increases the heart rate variability, an indicator of both the risk of facing a heart attack and of dying from heart problems. In case you follow a diet rich in flavonoids the risk is reduced.
