WEEK OF BIODIVERSITY THE SMART INITIATIVES OF VENETO AGRICOLTURA

This is the week of biodiversity and bees , which will be celebrated all over the world with many events, obviously all rigorously proposed in smart mode due to the restrictions for Covid-19. Veneto Agricoltura also had to adapt to the situation that has arisen by preparing for the occasion a booklet of themed insights, some of which already present on social networks (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter) , while others will be posted on a daily basis from tomorrow. until Saturday 23 May.

But we proceed in order, remembering that there are two dates highlight of this "long" week of the year dedicated to Nature: Wednesday, May 20 in Italy we celebrate the National Day of Biodiversity of agricultural and food interest; the same day also marks World Bee Day, proclaimed by the United Nations from 2017; Finally, on Friday 22 May the International Day of Animal and Plant Biodiversity is celebrated all over the world.

In short, there is something for everyone, nature lovers and ordinary citizens, also because the range of topics that refer to "Biodiversity" is wide and engaging: from the world of bees to biodiverse woods ; from sheep and cattle breeds to those of the Veneto poultry at risk of extinction or genetic erosion; from ancient varieties of fruit and cereals to the blooms of the Botanical Gardens managed by Veneto Agricoltura.

In this context, the regional agency - Coronavirus case - had to set aside the initiatives already planned in the area and focus on a series of communication moments available to everyone on social networks and on its website .

For the occasion, on the Agency's YouTube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/VenetoAgricolturaTv ), alongside the playlist containing all the 95 themed episodes made in the last year and a half by Radio Veneto Agricoltura , they are other interesting containers have been created dedicated to the environment and the nature that surrounds us, which embellishes our Region so much. Thus, in the playlist " Days of Biodiversity ", interesting insights on the world of bees are already available (interview with the internationally renowned expert Paolo Fontana , of the "E. Mach" Foundation of San Michele all'Adige, as well as frequent visitor as Geo transmission expert on Rai Tre) and the " Bionet " regional project, focused on the conservation of agricultural biodiversity (with an interview with Michele Giannini of Veneto Agricoltura).
