Vinitaly Wine Competition: from 2016 many novelties

The Vinitaly Wine Competition changes. One of the most important events at national and international level and the longest has in the program important changes. The official presentation of the new format and the new naming will take place during Wine2Wine, in Verona, next 2nd and 3rd December.

«In anticipation of the 50th Vinitaly and now that we have reached the finish of the 22nd competition – the General Manager of VeronaFiere, Giovanni Mantovani, said – we decided to innovate the formula of judgment». New is the judging system, with specialized by geographical areas committees to ensure the proper assessment of the wines from all areas of production and the expression of the judgements in cents.

With the use of the system of hundredths, the system for awarding prizes will change, too, with a recognition only to the wines that will reach or exceed a score of 90 cents (abandoning the system of medals).
