Vinarius, the voice of Italian wine shops, raises a problem that risks, summer after summer, becoming more and more central within the Italian wine supply chain: the non-refrigerated transport of the wine product. Wine merchants, restaurateurs and, in return, consumers, risk not receiving products of their highest quality, precisely because of the long journeys inside vehicles not at temperature which would affect the characteristics of the product.
“ It is a theme that must be raised and underlined in its importance - Andrea Terraneo, President of Vinarius intervenes - Transporting wines by means not designed for refrigeration and to maintain an ideal temperature that does not alter the product, risks becoming a great disservice, towards us winemakers and towards the public. Tamponing through state-of-the-art cellars inside the wine shop is no longer enough, the damage is already done during transport. As an association we are available with a view to covering the costs of this service but we ask companies, consortia and other players in the supply chain to join and work on a common solution, to protect Italian excellence and all wine shop customers and restaurants that deserve to enjoy a product to the fullest of its qualities ”.
