The Veronafiere shareholders' meeting on 29 June confirmed Ettore Riello as president of the institution for the three-year period 2012-2015.
Riello, a graduate in Economics from the Cà Foscari University of Venice, former president of AEFI, the Italian Exhibition and Fair Association since November 2010, declared:
«I thank all the members and institutions for the renewed trust (...). This last period was marked by an unprecedented economic crisis, which especially in 2011 made its full impact felt on the entire European exhibition sector. Despite this, Veronafiere closed the last three years with positive results, higher than expected, and increased its market share by 5 percentage points, confirming itself as one of the main Italian and international players. Results obtained thanks to careful management of resources, the continuous process of format innovation and infrastructural investments in the exhibition center ».
Regarding the future of VeronaFiere, Riello stated: "we will continue tirelessly in the implementation of the industrial development plan , with particular regard to the identification of strategic partnerships aimed at the growth and strengthening of the product portfolio, as well as the development of an intense and an increasingly targeted calendar of foreign events to provide the business system and institutions with a platform for the promotion and export of Made in Italy in the world.
