VENETO AGRICOLTURE PRESENTS THE FIRST EVALUATIONS OF THE REGIONAL AGRICULTURAL YEAR 2023 AT FIERAGRICOLA

The appointment is set for 11.30 am in the Casa Veneto stand (Pavilion 4, stand 4), where Nicola Dell'Acqua, director of Veneto Agriculture and Federico Caner, regional councilor for Agriculture will speak.

The Veneto Agriculture Economic Observatory anticipates some numbers from the large amount of data contained in the report on the First Evaluations of the 2023 agricultural year in Veneto: the number of businesses and employees is decreasing, foreign trade is not bad.

The number of active Veneto agricultural businesses is therefore decreasing, which in the first three quarters of 2023 amounted to approximately 59,000 units (-1.8% compared to 2022), a drop slightly lower than the national trend (-2.8% ). However, agricultural businesses set up in the form of joint-stock companies (7.3%) and individuals (1.0%) are growing, while individual businesses are decreasing (-2.6%), which however still represent a of almost 80% of the total agricultural enterprises. The number of companies in the food sector decreases, falling to around 3,500 units (-1.4%).

From the previews, a situation that is not positive also emerges with regard to the number of people employed in agriculture , while better indications come from foreign trade .

During the traditional press conference at the beginning of the year, all the main economic variables will be reviewed to outline the updated situation of the regional primary sector: agricultural companies, agricultural workers, foreign trade, prices and markets, up to the estimates of productive and economic results of the main agricultural crops, livestock, fishing and the agricultural sector as a whole.
