Vagliagli Chianti Classico Producers Association together with AIRC for cancer research

The Vagliagli Chianti Classico Producers Association , thanks to those who choose its wines, from this Christmas will lend a hand to the Airc Toscana Association for the fight against cancer.

In fact, thanks to the creation of a wooden box containing precious bottles of Chianti Classico from Produttori di Vagliagli, available immediately, funds will be raised to support the research into cancer diseases. Part of the proceeds from this special package, consisting of 12 labels signed by the Bindi Sergardi, Belvedere, Borgo Scopeto, Canonica a Cerreto, Cantalici, Dievole, Fattoria della Aiola, Oliviera, Monaciano, Scheggiola, Poggio dell'Oliviera and Vallepicciola wineries, will in fact be donated to one of the most active Italian foundations in cancer research.

With this initiative, the Vagliagli Chianti Classico Producers Association launches a series of activities to promote those who are part of it but above all the territory and its riches.

The Association brings together under the same brand, and under the same mission, not only wineries, but also restaurants and various activities that contribute every day to make this area of Chianti Classico, a few kilometers from Siena, alive and precious, together to make learn about their land and their products.

The beating heart of the Association are the 30 winemakers who are part of it, who every year, from the 770 hectares of vines they raise, give life to wines that tell the story of these places, where the vine was grown since the time of the Etruscans, and they design, continuing to be among the most important spokespersons of the Chianti Classico, today and tomorrow.

President of the Association is Alberto Colombo, administrator of the Vallepicciola company. "I strongly believe in synergy and I think that knowing how to network can be the best way to convey the quality of Made in Italy. Among the many activities we want to carry out, this is the beginning. With this small gesture, and with the precious help of who will buy the cassettes, we want in time of Covid not to forget about other diseases that unfortunately continue to extinguish lives every day, and remember, and remind us, of how important research is in Italy and in the world ".

Vagliagli is a medieval village located a few kilometers north of Siena, in the southern part of the Chianti Classico area, and its name derives from Vallialli (Valle di Allii - valley of Mr. Allius) which for centuries was a defensive castle of the Sienese city.

Vagliagli fully embraces the project of the Chianti Classico Consortium which intends to enhance the differences between the various production areas that are the true wealth of the Chianti area. The ancient hamlet of Vagliagli has always been recognized as a quality Chianti Classico production area , as stated in art. 1 of the constitution of the Chianti Classico Consortium, founded in 1924, which outlined the territory where Chianti Classico could be grown: ".. in the village of Vagliagli and San Gusmé, parts of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the Municipalities of Castellina, Gaiole , Greve and Radda .. "
