First rumors on the top ten list of the 10 best oils in the world edited by “Der Feinschmecker”: the Cantico Oil of Lungarotti Winery is there!
The ranking, compiled by “Der Feinschmecker”, was created by selecting 750 olive oils from all over the world. A testing for the worldwide production of olive oil is made, and it is the largest of its kind in Europe.
The Lungarotti winery saw its Cantico placed in the top 10: it is an extra virgin olive of shiny green color with golden hues and a persistent fruity flavor. It has a bitter taste, medium spicy, large and intense. Excellent in recipes of Mediterranean cuisine, just for its balance, and a healthy element for all ages, as you can read in the website of the company.
«In Umbria, like in Tuscany, wine producers are often also oil producers, and vines and olive trees characterize the landscape and the cuisine», Chiara Lungarotti, managing director of the Lungarotti winery, explains. «Umbria is the land of St.Francis, and “Cantico” is a brand that immediately recalls this land sung by the Holy Friar, so we chose it as the name for our oil that brings on the German tables all the flavors of the Umbrian Hills», Lungarotti adds.
