Castello di Radda's Chianti Classico Docg 2018 in the Gambero Rosso 2021 Italian Wines Guide

The Agricole Gussalli Beretta win the Tre Bicchieri bet also in Tuscany: to win the prestigious award, the third for the group, is the Castello di Radda farm, with its Chianti Classico Docg 2018. Purchased by the Gussalli Beretta family in 2003 , the property extends over 200 hectares in Radda in Chianti in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, of which 36 are mainly vineyards of Sangiovese, a native vine par excellence.

“For the seventh consecutive year, the company has obtained the precious recognition from Gambero Rosso” - explains Ms. Monique Poncelet Gussalli Beretta. “For us it is a source of great pride that rewards the work carried out over the years in the constant search for excellence, favoring quality, with low production yields, constant manual interventions in the vineyards and the use of Precision Agriculture”.

Maximum expression of Sangiovese, Chianti Classico Docg comes from only native vines, Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. With a harmonious taste and an intense ruby color, it comes from the hills of Radda in Chianti, from vineyards located 400 meters above sea level. Their exposure, together with the low production yields and the strong thermal excursion, contribute to the creation of a truly unique wine.

A success that joins that of two other wineries owned by Agricole Gussalli Beretta, Lo Sparviere and Fortemasso . The Franciacorta Docg Dosaggio Zero Riserva 2013 Lo Sparviere and the Barolo Docg Castelletto 2016 Fortemasso were awarded by the Gambero Rosso 2021 Wines Guide.

Located on the hill facing the village of Radda in Chianti to the east, stands Castello di Radda . It represents a perfect example of architecture integrated into nature. Castello di Radda enhances its land through its noblest expression: grapes that are transformed into wine. Tradition and innovation, respect for the land and the man who cultivates it, safeguarding native vines and traditional winemaking methods: these are the fundamental values at the base of its wine production.
