The award ceremony at the Grinzane Cavour Castle on Sunday 26 September

The first awards ceremony of the 20th edition of Bere il Territorio , the National Literary Competition promoted by Go Wine, which for the past twenty years has been inviting participants to tell their report, was held on Sunday 26 September at the Congress Hall of the Grinzane Cavour Castle. with wine through the journey and its emotions.

A traditional event that represents one of the association's most significant cultural projects, made even more special this year as it is associated with the celebrations for the association's twentieth anniversary .

A competition born in 2001 to spread a positive concept of the correct consumption of quality wines and to contribute to giving cultural relevance to the theme of viticulture in a country with great traditions like Italy.

The twentieth edition was particularly well attended, reaching a significant number of candidates from all over Italy.

In front of an audience of Go Wine members, who came to Alba from various regions on the occasion of the celebrations for the twenty years of the association, the winners of the general sections of the competition were awarded.

In the first category, reserved for the age group from 16 to 24, Massimo de Laurentiis from Milan was the winner, with the story "The blood of the volcano", inspired by a journey in the lands of Aglianico del Vùlture in Basilicata.

In the second category (over 24 years) the award went to Pier Gavino Sedda from Gavoi (Nu), with the story "Il vino di Gigino", which in his story exalted the land and Sardinian products, following three different lines: historical track, popular traditions. The material civilization of Sardinia, with its objects and words. The memorial memory, the personal experience, the desire not to lose a person's memory.

The special prize reserved for a book published in 2020 which has wine as its theme or which, in any case, pays special attention to wine goes to Chiara Bassi , wine blogger, for the novel "Leonardo's sparkling wine" .

The ceremony on Sunday 26 September was part of the weekend of celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of Go Wine, which on Sunday morning in Grinzane Cavour saw the participation of members and personalities close to the association. Following the ceremony, the second and last Sunday of the Wine Festival was held in the center of Alba.

The president of the Cavour Piedmontese Regional Enoteca, Roberto Bodrito and Francesco Cappello, vice president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation participated in the initiative.

During the ceremony, the Go Wine association awarded the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation for its support in the cultural initiative, right from the first edition.

During the ceremony, the second award ceremony was announced, scheduled in Alba on Saturday 6 November; on the occasion, the special prize of "Il Maestro" will be awarded to Paolo Pejrone, architect and landscape architect.

The Jury of the National Literary Competition Bere il Territorio is made up of the courteous presence of: Gianluigi Beccaria (University of Turin), Valter Boggione (University of Turin), Margherita Oggero (writer), Bruno Quaranta (La Stampa) and Massimo Corrado (Associazione Go Wine).

The Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation and over 220 Italian wineries that support Go Wine cultural projects support this initiative.
