The wines of the Centenary were conceived by Sartori Winery in collaboration with the producers of protection consortia of Bardolino, Custoza, Soave and Valpolicella. A total of 40 thousand bottles of Corvina, 25 thousand of Garganega, and 15 thousand of Amarone were made. To study the blends and sign the wines is the internationally renowned Italian winemaker Franco Bernabei, who said: "Both for Garganega and for the Corvina the best masses of wine were selected, from which we then choose the best, while Amarone is a child of Sartori company. It belongs to the 2009 vintage, that has been extraordinary, so it is a product of value to us ".

The three denominations dressed with the label signed by the three stars of Italian opera are: Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2009 by Sartori, Corvina Veronese IGT 2011 and Garganega Veronese IGT 2012. "These are three wines made to celebrate the centenary of the opera body that in 1913 began its season with Aida - Andrea Sartori says, president of the winery - We, who have been official partners of Arena for ten years, have taken three old boards of the opera season (1913, 1920 and 1922) designed by artists of the time, Codognato and Fagioli, to create these three celebratory labels, that will be launched during the first Gala of opera on 1st June. We will make a limited number of sizes (1.5, 3 and 5 liters) which will be signed by Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo and Josep Carreras, and then will be auctioned off for charity and part of the proceeds will be used in support of the Arena Foundation, to say, of classical music and culture in Verona".

The Wines of Centenary of Arena di Verona celebrate a strong link between territory, culture and tradition, expressing the strength of the relationship between opera and wine.

The same Andrea Sartori said: "We want to help the opera body because Verona has given us a lot, both as a family and as a company, so let's give something back to the city doing our best. For the distribution we expect a collaboration from the realities of Verona; remembering that part of the proceeds will be used to support the opera body, we hope that restaurants, wine bars, hotels will give us a hand, then making these wines available. However, we are also in contact with Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti and other airports, because the operation makes sense only if from its image is spread, and we are also working to help the body to attract more and more lyrical tourists who come to see our beautiful opera season".

The first celebration of the Centenary of the Arena di Verona takes place this evening, 10th June, and can be followed live on Rai Uno: at the special concert there will be Andrea Bocelli and Placido Domingo, to present Antonella Clerici.   The show is dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti.
