After the meteorological catastrophe that occurred in Germany, South Tyrolean winemakers support German winemakers by donating agricultural machinery and over 2,000 bottles of wine

The well-known South Tyrolean pragmatism and solidarity was not long in coming even on the occasion of the serious damage that occurred in Germany in recent weeks due to the flooding of the Ahr river which caused great inconvenience also to many German winemakers. To make an effective contribution in dealing with the emergency, the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige immediately supported the " SolidAHRität - From viticulturists for viticulturists " initiative in support of the affected producers.

"As Consorzio Vini Alto Adige we have decided to respond promptly to this appeal received from our German friends - declares Eduard Bernhart, Director of the Consortium - in the hope that it will be only a first gesture of solidarity which will be followed by other concrete actions aimed at giving support to the many German producers affected by this difficult situation. We are proud to see such a great support from our members who have donated a total of 2,744 bottles of wine and sparkling wine ".

Estimating an average value of around € 65 for each 6-bottle carton donated, the "SolidAHRität - From winegrowers for winegrowers" initiative raised a potential sum of over € 30,000. In addition to this initiative, the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige has given a further demonstration of resourcefulness and solidarity towards its German colleagues.

In collaboration with the well-known Italian manufacturer of special vineyard tractors, Antonio Carraro, he organized and implemented a targeted aid action for the HJ Kreuzberg wine estate in Dernau, a reality that was seriously damaged by the flood. For the reconstruction, Antonio Carraro made available a tractor on loan for use for the entire emergency period, while the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige donated a new forklift and a winch.

Both initiatives were supported by the logistics and transport company EMT from Caldaro, which sent the wine cartons and machinery to Germany.
