An increasingly incisive mark will be left in 2023 by the Consortium for the Protection of DOC Sicilia Wines, through effective promotional activities aimed at enhancing awareness of the denomination.
Press dinners, advertising campaigns, seminars and masterclasses in Italy and Europe, Canada, USA, UK, China and Korea were some of the activities carried out by the Consortium: " Since 2012 we have been carrying out activities and initiatives aimed at promoting the DOC Sicilia denomination - underlines Antonio Rallo, President of the Consorzio di Tutela Vini DOC Sicilia - in markets where the signs are encouraging and in which we believe there is important room for development ".
In Italy there were therefore many events dedicated to the Italian and international press during the year - starting from the incoming event dedicated to Nero D'Avola - which involved around a hundred journalists, influencers, operators and producers, and reached thousands of followers on the web, who were able to experience the days of masterclasses, tastings and visits to the cellar through the Consortium's social accounts.
Other masterclasses, dedicated to the two main native Sicilian vines, Grillo and Nero D'Avola, took place throughout the year, involving around a hundred subjects, including sommeliers and sector operators.
There are also many non-EU activities dedicated to the media, importers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, buyers and retailers, organized throughout the year, through tastings of Sicilian DOC wines and in-depth analysis: " This year in fact - concludes Antonio Rallo - we have the dialogue with the trade is distinct, in the UK, the USA and Canada, to bring the market towards which we must aim ever closer ".
