The Oiv introduces the definition of "drink obtained from the de-alcoholization of wine" and the procedures for obtaining it

The International Congress of the OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) unanimously introduces, for the first time officially in the international code of oenological practices, the regulatory definitions of "beverage obtained from the de-alcoholization of wine" , "beverage obtained from partial de-alcoholization of wine " and the separation techniques to de-alcoholise wines or to correct the alcohol content of wines.

In this way, Oiv acknowledges the expectations of the wine sector and the growing interest of consumers in low alcohol content wines and completely de- alcoholised beverages of vitivinicultural origin.
