At Borgo Baver in the Treviso area, there is one of the last examples of cultivation of the "Maritata Vine" and now it is subjected to restriction by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage
In the village of the Municipality of Godega di Sant’Urbano, in Treviso, a vineyard of the Napoleonic era with the Maritata vine dwells, where the vines are entwined with other trees, often fruit trees.
People moved to protect the vineyard, where there are hundred years old vineyards of Prosecco, Verdiso, Clinto and Bianchetta, and it was subjected to restriction by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
«A good that can be classified as one of the last remnants of an ancient form of farming, and that in its configuration combines values of agricultural landscape of particular relevance and values of ethno–anthropological character, so as to justify the action of protection that is expressed in the declaration of important cultural interest», is written in a statement of the Ministry.
