And now that the EU executive argues that it is difficult to protect a wine when there is not a geographical reference but there is only the name of the grape variety, to protect Pignoletto will be easier. «There was a real risk that the wine symbol of our hills were produced in countries such as Australia or Slovenia, where Pignoletto plants were already reported. This was told to me by the Chairman of the consortium of producers of wines of the Bologna hills, which is based in our territory. They told me that they were taking away the designation and that a location on the map was needed».
