Yesterday 1 August the Cantine di Carpi and Sorbara merged, giving life to a Lambrusco wine cooperative with a turnover of 20 million euros, 500,000 quintals of grapes processed and which produces 1 bottle out of 3 of all those of Lambrusco PDO and Igp sul market.
"This is a strategic project for the future of our two cooperatives - says the president of the Cantina di Carpi e Sorbara, Fausto Emilio Rossi - the former social cellar of Carpi, for example, which only sold bulk wine, can begin to propose itself also in bottling through an alliance with the Bautista Martì group, leader in the sector in Spain, and also by intensifying synergies with primary national customers ". "There will be interesting developments both in terms of production and marketing - adds Carlo Piccinini, vice president of the Cantina di Carpi and Sorbara - thanks to the diversification of our wines, we will be able to attack the markets more strongly. Furthermore, there will be positive effects in the territories where we are present, that is the provinces of Modena, Reggio Emilia and Mantua ".
